We made it to Sierra Leone! Our journey consisted of a car, a plane, a plane, another plane, a bus, another plane, another bus, a ferry and then a van and we made it to our ship! Wow that was a doozy of a travel experience... roughly 33 hours in the end. Praise God that we made every connection and our luggage did too.

On our way we met several people in the Brussels airport that were on the same flight as us and also heading to Mercy Ships. They were from England, The Netherlands, Oregon, Belgium, Germany and Denmark. It was so fun to connect with them and find out what they are doing on the ship and how long they are staying etc. There are a few nurses, a dentist, a couple working in dining and more. Our first day consisted of waking up for an all hands meeting at 7:45 which was a doozy considering our long travel and lack of sleep. But after that it was mostly exploring the ship and unpacking and finding the coffee shop and meeting people. Our room is really nice. you can see an image here.  We have settled in and had a ship tour and tomorrow we both get trained and get to work!
